| BREAKFAST | Listen Now Download mp3 |
It was one of those days
That your head wished,
You'd never thought of standing up straight,
And doing lots of things
Which just aren't expected,
Of an ordinary ape
Like going out hunting
down in the supermarket,
smiling at everyone you see,
When you'd much prefer
to just hang around,
And have breakfast in your tree
It was one of those days
when you're straining your ears
trying to hear a little bit of peace
But you feel it in your bones
you'd be better off home
|
practising your philosophy having breakfast in your tree |
Then you start dreaming
about a grassy path,
But it turns into a greasy cafe,
There's a sign on the wall saying
Please . . . Don't,
Feed the animals they'll laugh
Well days like these
can turn into weeks,
and the clocks can't be turned round,
But an ordinary ape
can't be expected,
to have breakfast hanging round
. . . on the ground
He wants breakfast in a tree
