Kingdom of Fife

While based in Glasgow, I worked a short job in Glenrothes. That area is known as the Kingdom of Fife, its roughly an hour north (by car/train) of Edinburgh, and to the east is the North Sea... Basically, Fife is comprised of several small towns, with 2 of the bigger ones being Kircaldy and St Andrews. The couple days I spent there, there were no hotel or B&B vacancies available in Glenrothes - So I wound up staying in a very small town by the name of Leven. It was nothing special, but it was a pleasant enough town. There are quite a few very cool churches for such a small town, and a beach (the Beach has a big power plant built on it though, bummer!). There wasn't much in the way of restaurants, but I did find a couple good pubs. The people there were very friendly, like everywhere else I have been in Scotland...

So Leven was not a bad place to spend a couple days. I will definitely get back to Fife at some point. I want to see St Andrews, which I have heard is nice - I want to see some of the castle ruins there in the area, and most of all I want to check out Dunfermilne - Home to the Dunfermilne Abbey, which supposedley is one of the best examples of gothic architecture in the world.

For now, the only pictures I have were the ones I took in Leven, but that will change after my next visit there - Click on the thumbnails to view the full size images.
