6-berth triple keel polypropylene-reinforced-epoxy sheathed wooden sailing yacht by John E Perryman of Fareham, full headroom, twin cylinder inboard engine completely overhauled/rebuilt, twin burner gas cooker with grill, sink, twin gas bottles. Simpson Lawrence 400 heads. Proctor spars, Bruce Banks sails. Ideal family boat, very spacious. Complete with full plans, anchor, ropes and fenders. The yacht is very similar in size to a Westerly Centaur [which my brother has]. Further photos available. The construction is marine plywood on pitch pine and mahogany. There is some oak and iroko. The hull was sheathed from new with Hempels polypropylene reinforced epoxy - very tough! The superstructure is all solid mahogany. She was launched in the seventies. The deck has been replaced with superior Israeli multi-ply instead of the basic BS1088. Equipment is all stored in the house and garage. Launching is done by hiring a Hiab lorry. This involves one vehicle and one driver at a charge of about £50 to £70 a time including mast stepping. Normally the boat is left on a public hard for the tide to come in - very easy.
