John Gray was Oscar Wilde's second lover. He was deeply in love, but Oscar found love elsewhere - with Bosie. Gray became very depressed, and even thought on suicide. Lucky for Ioan fans though, Gray carried on with life, although it was a life without Oscar. :(
It isnt a very big part for Ioan, and he does have rather funny long hair, but he is great as Gray! For people wondering - YES it is Ioan's own hair, which made it very difficult for the wig assistants working on Titanic, as Ioan was filming both movies at the same time.
