There are some 12 acres of mixed wood and open land with a steep drop on the western edge.

The main camping area is open from Easter to the end of October each year.  There are nine individual sites surrounding a large activity area with four additional sites in the wooded area.  There are three water standpipes on the camping field.

An activity area of 10 acres is available in April and August within the walled deer park adjacent to the site.  This area is closed between May and July due to the fawning season for the deer, and again in September and October during the rutting season.

An adventure playground is available for Cub Scouts and an assault course for Scouts.  An abseiling tower and climbing face is available and there is also a campfire circle which doubles as a chapel.

Parker's Pool provides opportunity for water activities, beyond which there is a conservation area in the south west corner of the site with many species of wild flowers and birds.
